Comics & Zines

Catastrophic Justice (2024)

The assignment was to create a comic based on a song, using visual elements to represent aspects of the melody. My comic follows a segment from “The King” by Anjimile (2023).

Wedding Day (2024)

Another comic project where the class was to display a traditional ceremony performed by an original culture we created. I chose to showcase a wedding with original characters from my project “Beneath Those Eyes”.

Short Encyclopedia (2022)

A zine project with creative liberty. I chose to make a mini encyclopedia based on creatures that can be found within the world of “Beneath Those Eyes”.

Poulivir Encyclopedia (2022)

My first zine project where the class also had creative liberty. Due to being limited to brochure-like dimensions, I focused on making an encyclopedia only about the different variations of my original species, poulivirs, from “Beneath Those Eyes”.

Peter & the wolf

A Celtic retelling of the symphonic tale “Peter and the Wolf” by Sergei Prokofiev (1936).

Part I

Beneath Those Eyes

A friendship is formed between two unlikely individuals: Tenebris, the avian prince and heir of the royal crown, and Felix, a wingless avian formerly living off the streets turned clergyman. As they grow older and war erupts upon them, the two are thrown into many challenges that will provoke their goals and morals; ultimately determining how they will be remembered in history. Both men have the opportunity to gain a reputation, but it won’t come without consequences.

Part II

Fools of a Feather

Although it has been a century since the war, the impact left by those who have past on are still being felt by many, particularly Kateryn and Icarus. Friends out of circumstance, the two were both born into lives not by their own volition— Kateryn is “gifted” the role of Vessefkairia, an occupation of high importance that ensures the balance between the living and spirit realm; while Icarus is the first hybrid within the royal avian family, which led to his ostracize. However, the discovery of a certain infamous ghost leads the two into uncovering secrets never meant to surface, bringing their supposed purposes into questioning.

Part III

Nothing More

The events that have occurred 8 years ago have weighed heavily on Kateryn & Icarus, but both have gradually settled into their new life. However, a threat still looms across the lands, and the past is creeping its way back in ways neither them or Tenebris could have expected. Especially when it has the face of an old friend.
